Welcome in my web site

After about 10 years of inactivity in radio, I decided to re-install my station. Now I live in Scandriglia(RI) no more in Bari and I've just received the new callsign IZ0QWM.
You can find me on the radio, usually in digital modes or APRS.
Please, visit the IW2OHX TCP/IP Radio server (and much more). IW2OHX is my brother Marco Di Martino, and I must say thanks to him because he asked me again and again: "why don't you go on air again ?" :-)

TOA Lightning system & Weather radar

I can show the result of a new project from KWOS: integration of the TOA lightning system and weather radar data.

The TOA plots are represented as small points whose legend is on the lower left.

The radar plots legend is on the bottom right. You can find them as clouds on the map.

Have you ever thought that the marine radar could be used as weather radar ? We tried and here is the result. We are still in calibration using other radar in the area of Lazio, but the results seem good. Soon we will explain how this project has been developed.
